Satisfaction, yes, and even a hint of pride.
This is what I felt when Piero Campi presented me with the gold record for the single "Where'd You Go Someday," which we worked on together in early 2025. An award from the MEI for a song that reached third place on the Europe Music Chart, the chart of independent radio stations across Europe.
In that moment, when Piero let this award slip into my hands, I realised that the song had truly been loved, and by a huge audience.
And for a producer, this means I've done my job well: I've given shape to something that has stopped being part of the studio and begun to live in the world.
"Where'd You Go Someday" was born at Think Ahead Studio between January and March 2025. Three months during which I handled artistic direction, recording, mixing, mastering, composition, and musical arrangement. I played acoustic guitars, electric bass, and dobro, while Diego (Analog Tears) flew in all the way from Seattle to play electric guitars and Andrea Rizzi took care of the drums. But above all, I listened to Piero and Diego. Because this is the producer's job: to understand the artist's vision and bring it where it belongs.
When a project achieves this kind of result, it means the artist recognised himself in every note.
And that those who listened felt that truth.
Thank you, Piero, for entrusting me with your songs.
And thank you to those who brought them to life beyond the studio walls.
